Last night, while doing the occasional blade check to ensure compliance on the first batch of brass razors, we noticed that the Kai style blades only were a tight fit on the blade tabs. When we say a tight fit, it means that after the top cap and base plate were assembled with the handle, during disassembly, we noticed that the Kai blades required a little effort to pull the blade off the tabs. The shave is not affected whatsoever. The blade will actually be held more rigidly for Kai blades in this batch of razors, which, for a lot of wet shavers, is music to their ears.
It should be noted that the Feather style blades had no issue at all. They fit perfectly and required no effort to pull off the tabs after the shave.
We have heard throughout the community that this type of issue has been seen with Kai blades in other Artist Club razors. We are going to study them and determine if it is a design or a machining issue.
Though a disappointment, we are remaining positive, because we know that these Brass razors will be loved by those who purchase! Since the razors will still shave wonderfully, we are keeping the price at $99.99 still. They will be stocked at 11:00 AM ET today and at colonialrazors.com.
